SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY
The attractive programme given to iho seafarers at the Bailors’ Friend Society on Thursday was much enjoyed bv ihb guests of Miss I. Stanton, who with her helpers was encored frequently. The performers wore:— Mrs Jennings. Misses Walworth, Bowden, and I. Stanton, and Messrs. Bowden, Robinson, Newton and Cornwell. Miss Bowden was at the piano. Hie competitions afforded much pleasure to nil The prizes came from the hostess and Mrs IV. Hanagaii, and went to the Cumberland, Ta iron and Rotorua. The Missioner sought, for gifts of leadin'' matter for the voyages before the men, as the Institute supply was running out in consequence of the many calls from ships recently.
