ALLEGED MURDER OF CHILD
YOUNG WOMAN CHARGED "Dominion” Special. Palmerston North, February 15. Charged that on or about January 19, 1926, at Palmerston North, she did kill her inTant daughter, a young woman appeared in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon,' before Messrs. W. F. Durward and N. H. Sinclair, J.P’s. Accused was not represented by counsel. Senior Detective Quirke, who appeared for the police, asked for a remand until Wednesday, and that accused’s name be suppressed in the meantime. He turned to accused with a question as to whether she asked for bail, but accused, who was in tears, made an inaudible answer. Bail was fixed at £5O, with one security of a like amount, and accused was accordingly remanded. An order was also made for the suppression of her name.
