TAUPO TROUT FISHING

A VISITOR’S PRAISE

Auckland, February 11

Lord and Ladv Allenby arrived at Taupo yesterday and spent to-day fishing on the lake. The fishing conditions have been very good at Taupo this week and light northerly breezes are prevailing. Mr. and Airs. Al. 11. Kellum and party from tho yacht Kaimiloa arrived on Tuesday and spent Wednesday fishing on tho lake. The party, which comprised five rods, caught 5G trout, the largest, which weighed 9.j1b., being landed by Aliss Kellum.

Interviewed on Wednesday evening, Mr. Kellum said that he had just had the best day’s fishing he had over experienced on fresh water. The size of the fish was wonderful and the trout caught at Rotorua were not to he compared with those caught at Taupo that day. Mr. Kellum also said that he had decided to return to Taupo next month for a fortnight’s fishing.
