ANNUAL CONFERENCE. By TtMMteAi'i' association Dunedin, February 4 The annual conference of the Municipal Association of New Zealand opened at the Town Hall this morning, the president (Mr. TI. L. .Tapley. M.P., Mayor of Dunedin) presiding over a record attendance of delegates, about 100 being present. Some 9 n remits wore set down on the order par°r. nnd most of the items have boon disposed of. The statement of income nnd expenditure of the association' for the year ended May 31 last, showed nn expenditure of £B5O 15s. (id., and the balance of excass of expenditure over income is £B3 10s. 6d. Among the remits passed was one advocating legislative provision for the general election of Mayor and councillors every three years. It was decided to accent fhe invitation of the Mavor of Palmerston North to hold the next conference in that town eajtJp next year,.
