LAST YEAR’S LAUNCHINGS
DECREASE IN BRITISH TONNAGE London, January 20. During 1925, 855 vessels of 2,193,000 tons gross were launched, according to '“Lloyd’s Annual Summary,” and of these 49| per cent., namely, 1,085,000 tons, were launched in the British Isles. Germany comes second with 406,000 tons, Italy next with 142,000, then the United States with 129,000 tons. Japan Is eighth with 56,000. There was a decrease in the total output of 54,000 tons, as compared with 1921. The decrease in the British Isles was 355,000. Thus \he increase abroad was 301,000 tons. The tonnage launched in Britain for owners abroad was 178.000 tons.—Reuter.
