The road gang engaged _in paving one of Wanganui’s roads with hot-nilx hit upon the happy’ plan of starting work at 4 a an. In this way the men escape the heat of the day, finishing their dav’s work at noon (states _ the Wanganui “Herald”). One enterprising worker who is out to make extra money while the time is ripe, commences on another job in the afternoon, working twelve hours a day.
