DAMAGE BY FIRE
FARMER’S HOUSE DESTROYED.
Bx Telegraph.—Press Association.
Hamilton, January 21. A five-roomed house owned and occupied by E. Egan, farmer, Whatawhata, was destroyed by fire early this morning. Mrs, Egan lit a fire, after which she left the house to muster the cows for milking. One of the other occupants arose a short while later and proceeded to the kitchen, to find a blaze in progress. It is surmised that a spark flying out of the grate caused the outbreak.
The only furniture saved was a dressing table. The house qnd furniture were insured.
