STRANGE BATHING FATALITY
GIRL HELD UNDER WATER
Br Tzlegb.apii — I’mrss Association Te Kuiti, January 14. A Maori girl named Mahora Kamana, aged 15 years, was drowned at Hangatiki yesterday while bathing in the river. In diving off the bank she caught on a snag in six feet of wa<cr, and was unable to free herself. Her companion called out, and her brother dived in and recovered the bodv, but life was extinct. An inquest was held last night, and the Coroner brought in a verdict of acci'lent.il drowning.
