MAIN HIGHWAYS
TOUR OF THE SOUTH ISLAND
The members of the Main Highways Board, including the engineer and secretary, will leave this evening on a tour of the South Island, which will last about a fortnight, during which time the principal highways of the South Island will be inspected. From Blenheim, the party will proceed to Hamner and Christchurch, where the Motor Association and local bodies will be met, On the way down to Oamaru, further local bodies will be conferred with. Dunedin, Invercargill, Clyde, and Queenstown will be visited, and the party will then motor to Timaru and Springfield, and then proceed bv rail to Otira, Hokitika, and Waiho, where bridge construction will be inspected.
