BOWLS

WELLINGTON CENTRE TOURNEY

SECOND DAY’S PLAY

IN DULL BREEZY WEATHER The elements were not propitious for good play in the Wellington Centre’s tournament, which was continued on the city greens yesterday. The weather was very gloomy and windy, with rain threatening at intervals, which are scarcely the conditions favoured by bowlers, for in addition to the general unpleasantness, the best-laid bowls were apt to "gang agley” under the impetus of a sudden squall. Still, three more rounds were played with great zest. Three more rounds, to be played to-day. will conclude the section 1 play. Post-section play will commence at 9.15 a.m. to-morrow on greens to 'bo decided to-day by the committee.
