BANK MANAGER’S MURDER
SUSPECT ARRESTED.
(Rec. December 28, 10.35 p.m.) Sydney, December 28. Douglas Robertson. 37 vears of age, described as a skilled labourer, _ has been arrested in Svdnev on suspicion on the charge of murdering William C. Almeida, manager of the Hampton, Victoria, branch of the Commercial Bank, on November 28, 1924, when the bank was stuck up by two men, one of whom escaped. The hearing of the case against Robertson was adjourned till to-morrow. Robtrtson is stated to have come from New Zealand and been in Sydney about a month. A man named Perkins, whom Almeida, after being wounded, held at the revolver point till he was arrested, was sentenced to fifteen vears’ ’imprisonment.—Press Assn.
