4 LOVERIDGE OUTPOINTS McNEIGHT. Bi Telegraph.—Press Association. Westport, December 27. A professional welterweight boxing contest of 15 rounds, Loveridge (New Plymouth) v. McNeight. (Hamilton) went the full distance last mgbt. and was one of the best’bouts cvcr staged here, both lads fighting vigorously from the'opening to the closing of the contest, which Loveridge won on points. AUSTRALIAN BOUTS. (Rec. December 27, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, December 27. At the Stadium last night “Tiger” Payne had the best of Alf. Stewart in fifteen rounds. It was a whirlwind fight for the first nine rounds, and then the pace got slower, the winner conquering his opponent by solid slogging.—Press Assn.
