PALMERSTON MAGISTRATE’S COURT
Christmas affords an excuse to some people for over-indulgence, but notwithstanding the large crowds, representative of all classes of the community, m Palmerston North on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, there was a decrease in the number of offenders for drunkenness this year as against last year’s totals for a similar period. There were on the days mentioned last week only three offenders, and these, who were first offenders, came before Mr. A. J. Graham, J.P., in the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court on Saturday morning. Two were ordered to forfeit the amount of their bail (10s. in each case), and the other offender, who had spent some hours in the lock-up, was convicted and discharged.
