PROTEST AGAINST PROHIBITION
MAXIM HAS TO GO ABROAD FOR LIQUOR. (Rec. November 19, 5.5 p.m.) New York, November 19. On the eve of sailing for Europe on Wednesday, Mr. Hudson Maxim said one of the chief reasons for his first trip abroad in 26 years was to get some ale and stout. The aged inventor said: "We will have to invent a new human race if prohibition is to be enforced, and that new race will have to be aided and abetted bv the Anti-Saloon League. The drinking races have alwavs dominated the world, and always will do so. The enforcement of prohibition is the enforcement of crime.”—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
