R.S.A. MEETING
SOLDIERS WANT ADVICE. The Returned Soldiers’ Association called a meeting at their rooms last evening for the purpose of allowing out-of-work “diggers'” and others who needed advice a chance to confide in the association. Colonel Hall presided Quito a number accepted the opportunity, and spoke of pensions, soldiers’ loans, and other matters, including the D.S.S. Many of those present were unemplojjjd and asked how to go about securing positions for light labour, such as gardening, clerking, etc. Mrs. Hatfield, who was connected with the Y.M.C.A. in London during war time,_ was also present, and talked of olden times when she first made the acquaintance of Nevf Zealand soldiers abroad. Mr. W-. Perry, vice-president of tho New Zealand branch, gave some very useful information. especially concerning economic pensions, which many returned mon stalk) they would sooner forfeit .and secure work instead. All grievances, claims/etc., put by the men were taken down, and will receive investigation by the association. It was decided to hold an "advice” meeting every month from now on.
