KARITANE BOND ISSUE
SCOUTS’ SELLING CAMPAIGN. Working in the various residential areas allotted to them, twenty troops of Boy Scouts are spending their afterschool hours in offering tho citizens ot Wellington bonds, the'proceeds of which will swell tlie Karitane Hospital Fund. It is hoped that the week will end with a total of £5OOO worth of bonds sold. So far, the few returns announced fall behind the average that must be recorded to reach that objective in six days of sales; but the rivalry which is known to exist among the troops may be expected to produce some surprises. The following amounts have so far been announced: —Wellesley College, £l3 10s., total for two days, £4B 10s.; Y.M.C.A., £3 13s. fid., total for two days, £ll 65.; St. Paul’s Church. £l7 19s. 6d.; Lyall Bay, £l9 13s The proceeds of the performance of “The Fire Prince, ’ organised on behalf of the Karitanefund bv Mrs. Albert Russell, have be.cn handed over to the committee in charge of the appeal, and amount io £145 2s. 10J.
