BETWEEN MILITARY FACTIONS
’ Peking, November 15. Dispatches from Tsing-tao report that the mutinous Fifth Division at Shantung fired on Fengteiu’s “white” Russian brigade from the rear, while the Russians were endeavouring to stem the allijd troops ahead. The majority of three thousand mercenaries were killed, including an armoured car party, whose wounded .received no aid until foreign medical men from Tsinan-fu daringly proceeded to the fighting areas. —Reuter.
REDS DEFEAT ANTI-REDS Peking, November 16. Messages from South China indicate that the Red Kuo Mintangs have driven out the anti-Reds from Kuangtung, and are preparing to follow them to Fukien to complete the work of annihilation of the armed opposition to Red control in the Kuangtung province.—Aus.-N.Z.
