The trial of twelve Communists, lerecently arrested on a charge ot seditious conspiracy, has opened. There were two women on the jjury. All the defendants pleaded not guilty. The Attorney-Genet al, opening the case, said that the nature of the conspiracy which the prosecution undertook to prove was that defendants were the heads in Britain of an illegal organisation calling itself the Communist Party of Great Britain, the supreme control of which was in Moscow, with the object of forcibly overthrowing by arms the existing state of society, and, as a means thereto, seducing the armed forces of the Crown from their allegiance.—Reuter.
