FIRE IN TASMAN STREET
About 2.30 o’clock on Sunday afternoon the fire brigade received a call to 85 Tasman Street, where a onestory five-roomed dwelling and shop occupied by William Edward Smith, were observed to be on fire. Two rooms and the contents were damaged by the flames. The building was insured in the Victoria Office for £BOO, the contents being -covered at £lOO by a South British policy.
PINE PLANTATION DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press AssociationNelson, November 16. During a high south-west wind a young pine plantation, extending over three hundred acres, on the Moutere Hills, was totally destroyed by fire.
