EVENING MEETING. An athletic meeting was held at Athletic Park last evening, under the auspices of the Wellington Centre of the A.A.A., when a number of interesting events were run off, the details of which are as follow:— 120yds. ALTERATIONS FOR SATURDAY. The following alterations have been announced for the Australia v. New Zealand meeting on Saturday:—22oyds. Test: Kvle takes the place of. L. A. Tracy. Two-mile Test: D. Todd and A. C. Dufresne will also run with R. A. Rose. Cycle Test: T. Oakley, C. Flett, and C. AV. Curtiss will ride. AUSTRALIA V. NEAV ZEALAND. AA r hat will probably be the final and the finest appearance of the Australian athletic combination in New Zealand will take place at the Basin Reserve on Saturday next. 'Che occasion is a test meeting arranged between the Australian team and New Zealand’s best. In view of tho excellent performances of the Australians at Masterton on Saturday last, the running at the Basin Reserve will be of the highest order, and New Zealand will bo called upon to look to her laurels. Parker and Grehan have now struck the form which enabled them to beat tho best at the last Australasian championships. Grehan is running a magnificent 220 yards, and Parker is doing evens over the 100 ya ids. Whyte at Masterton equalled the time put up by Campbell at the New Zealand championships, and that was only 4-ssec. outside the record. Hyde and Hose will again meet in the mile. The New Zealand sprinters, Leadbetter, Kyle, Jenkins, and Paris, will provide worthy opponents for the Australian cracks. A full programme of handicap events has been arranged, aud interest will centre round tho challenge relay race for the Heenan Baton between teams representing the Canterbury, AVellington, 'Varsity, and Olympic Clubs. Cycle races will also be a feature, and the public will have another opportunity of seeing Burness in action again after his fine performances at the New Zealand championships.
