RUN DOWN BY CAR
ELDERLY COUPLE KILLED By Telegraph-—Press - ssociationCopyright Sydney, March 21. An elderly couple, John Curr (aged 71), and his wife, Mary (aged 60), were knocked down by a motor-car on the Parramatta road at Five Dock late last night, and received shocking injuries, from which both died. The driver of the car did not stop, though, it is stated, he evidently saw the Gurrs, for the marks on the road subsequently showed how the brakes were applied just bef6re running them down. After skidding for 28 yards the car resumed its journey. A motor-cyclist following gave chase, but lost signt or the car passing Burwood. Soon after the accident two young men told the police that shortly before the time of the accident they were passed by a blue motor-car travelling at between forty and fifty miles an hour.
