Archbishop Redwood, accompanied by the Rev. Father Smyth, parish priest of Thorndon, left by tho midday express on Saturday for Auckland to connect with the. Niagara there for Vancouver. It will probably be Christmas time before they return to Wellington. The Rev. J. G. S. Bartlett. Westmere, Wanganui, has been appointed organising secretary to the Nelson Cathedral Board. His specal task will be that of organising the work incidental to the raising of the balance of the. fund (£60,000) required for the erection of a new cathedral. Mr. F. W. Millar, secretary of the Public Service Association, who has been on his annual northern tour for a month past, lias returned to Wellington. Mr. B. Larson, the newly-appointed clerk and treasurer to the Takaka County Council, will take up his duties at the beginning of. next week. Mr. Larson is well known iu the Marlborough district, having for some time past held the dual position of clerk and engineer to the Pelorus Road Board and Town Clerk for Havelock.
