SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY
The programme presented by Mrs. Quinton, hostess, to her seafaring guests at the Sailors’ Friend Society on Thursday, was thoroughly enjoyed, many of the items being encored. The performers were: Misses Joyce Downing, Quinton, Avery, D. Quinton. Hutchin, Henderson, I. Hutchin, Ballinger, P. Avery, and Messrs, Clift, Matthews, Puckey, Sterling, Shields. G. Brown, Doran, Miss N. Bellringer was at the piano. The competitions went with a vim that was refresh, ing. Tho prizes were donated bv the hostess and went to the Port Wellington and Port Pirie. The missioner appeals for discarded reading matter for the voyages before the men.
