REPORT OF BRITISH INQUIRY (Rec. May 9, 8.5 p.m.) London, May 9The “Daily 7 Herald” forecasts that tho report of tho coal inquiry to be issued immediately will uphold . the miners’ contention that tho minimum wage should be the first charge on the coal industry. Tho facts revealed are held to justify the miners’ statement that wages are now lower in real value than in 1914. The report will declare that miners are entitled to a living wage, and by inference accept the view that the only solution of the problems of the industry lies in some form of unification, probably a national pool or nationalisation. —Reuter.
