COMPETITIONS SOCIETY
The seventh annual festival of the Wellington Competitions Society will commence on August 23. The programme comprises competitions for instrumental and vocal music, school choruses, juvenile choirs, choir contest, and dancing. A special competition is alto included for a programme cover design. A liberal prize list has been arranged, but in addition to the ordinary _ and special prizes eight scholarships will be awarded this year, six being donated J>y the society and two by local music firms. The official syllabus has now been issued, and is obtainable free from all music warehouses, or from the secretary, Box J 059, Wellington.
