OUTBREAK OF FIRE IN WAREHOUSE
BRIGADE EFFECTS GOOD SAVE
By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, April 27
A good deal of damage was caused by a fire which broke out at 7 o’clock this morning in Boss and Glendinning’s new hat and mantle factory in Stafford Street. Tho top floor was badly damaged by smoke and water, though the salvage sheets kept most of the water off. Six engines and .32 men were present, and even so they were not over-manned. The save was a remarkably good one, for when the alarm was given tho flames had gained a firm hold. The extent of the damage is not known. Tho building was insured in the Atlas office, but the amount is not available at present.
