MIRACULOUS ESCAPE
MAN FALLS BENEATH TRAM In attempting to board a moving tramcar at the junction of Manners and Willis Streets on Saturday afternoon, a middle-aged man missed his footing and fell beneath the ear. Tho brakes were promptly applied, but to extricate tho man it was found necessary to “jack” the car up. An examination showed that only portions of his clothing had been caught by the wheels, though he had a miraculous escape from losing both feet. He was taken into an adjoining hotel, but was able to dispense with the ambulance which, in the meantime, had been summoned post-haste.
