During the Easter holidavs a croup of older hoys from the Christchurch Y.'M.C.A. visited Wellington to take part in a cricket, Rugby football, and basket ball tournament with teams from the Wellington Association. Mr. T. M. Has’ett. bovs’ work director of the Christoinirch Association, accompanied the visiting boys. Favoured by the glorious weather that prevailed during the holidays a thoroughly enjoyable time was spent both by the visiting and the local boys. In all three events the Wellington boys were the victors. The crimes were keenly contested and some fine performances were registered. The programme included a visit to the boys’ division camp at Haywards, a social gathering on Sunday afternoon at which an address was given by the Rev. R. H. Cathcrwood. and a banquet on Monday evening before tho teams left by the south boat. The success of tho tournament was largclv due to a fine spirit of co-operation that animated one and a’l. and notnblv bv those who so kindly billited the boys. The excellent arrangements for grounds made by Mr. Cresswell, principal of Wellington College, also contributed in no small degree to making the tournament tho success it was.
