ANZAC DAY

ARRANGEMENTS FOR FRIDAY’S SERVICES. Arrangements arc well forward for tho Anzac Day services on Inday next. Arrangements have been made for twelve officers of the I’lcet, together with representatives from the Wellington R.S.A., to speak at the different schools in Wellington.. lhe officers will deliver a message in the same words as given by the Admiral at tho Cenotaph. Services will bo. held at tne temporary Cenotaph in Manners Street, opposite the Grand Opera House, when representatives from tho State schools and colleges will have an opportunity of placing wreaths round tho structure, in memory of those who made tho ' supremo sacrifice in the Great War. A short service will be conducted at tno Cenotaph by the Rev. Fielden Taylor, and addresses will be given by His Excellency the GovernorGeneral, and Vice-Admiral of tho I’iect: 1000 officers and men, including tho ships’ ba.nds. Two memorial services will bo held in tho afternoon, ono at the Town Hall and one at tho Grand Opera House. The service in tho Town Hall will lie conducted bv the Rev. Fielden Taylor, and His Excellency the Governor-General and the chaplain of H.M.S. Hood will also take part in tho service. The Grand Opera House service will be conducted by the chaplain of H.M.S. Repulse, who will give tho address. Five officers and twenty-five men will also be present, including tho Commodore of the New Zealand squadron. A sacred concert will be held in the Town Hall in tho evening, tho programme haring been arranged by Mr. H. Temple White. Collections will be made at each of the above services and tlie concert for the Wellington War Memorial. Ex-members of the N.Z.E.F. are requested to parade in uniform, medals to be worn. Next-of-kin tickets are now available at tho office of the Wellington Returned Soldiers’ Association.
