ALLEGED BREACHES OF GAMING ACT By Telegraph—Press Association. / Napier, April 22-... The police this afternoon conducted a raid with the object of “roping in” persons suspected of eommittin'* breaches of the Gaming Act. Nine men were arrested. AVilliam Hutton, .Tames Corless. Alfred Ernest Elwood, Henry James Robinson, and James Samuel Golding were charged with being occupiers of premises kept as a common gaming house. Thomas Cato Paterson and John Albert Le Bas were charged with loitering in the street for the purpose of betting. Reginald Albert Orange was charged with assisting in the conduct of a common gaming house, and William Cum was charged with being found in a common gaming house. Accused appeared before the magistrate and were remanded till Monday next on bail.
