« ’VARSITY MATCH CONCLUDED AN OVERWHELMING VICTORY The annual cricket match between elevens representing Victoria and Auckland University Colleges was concluded at Kelburn Park yesterday when the local side secured an overwhelming victory by an innings and 257 runs. When play terminated on Saturday the visitors had scored 76 runs in the first innings and Victoria College had five wickets down for 223 runs. Yesterday. Auckland were unfortunate in losing three men. who had returned to Auckland on account of the railway trouble. Victoria College carried their total to 395 yesterday. McKenzie, the captain of the team, played a splemdid innings for 133 runs. The Auckland University team was dismissed for 62 runs in the second innings.
