L boys’ wages in tho insurance stat.-' claims, endorsed the companies argument that it was not desirable that bevs’ salaries should be above their station in life and their requirements. Ho said that it tended to encourage inflated ideas of self-importance and extravagance. It wiis better that they wait till they were more mature. He' fixed tho starting wage for the age of 15 years at £5O per annum, with annual increases to £2OO p.t 2L
