NEW SOUTH WALES V. EAST COAST GAME ENDS IN A DRAW By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, March 19. The cricket match, New South Wales v. East Coast, was concluded to-day, and ended in a draw. The weather was delightful, and there was a large attendance. The wicket wore and played well. The visitors continued their innings at 11.50, and at 3.55 they were all out for 411. A feature of the play was the enterprising batting of Hendry (109), Andrews (78), Kippax (93), and Mullarkey (45). The others gave the bowlers very little trouble, although W. Bardsley was unfortunate in being' given out by a doubtful l.b.w. decision. The local bowling showed great improvement, Lord, a young break bowler, creating a very favourable impression. The home team’s ground fielding was good, but the catching was very faulty numerous chances being missed. The wicket-keeping by - Campbell was very weak, and he missed no fewer than five easy chances of stumping. Hendry gave five chances in the compilation of his score, and others were also let off. The homo side commenced the second innings at 4.16 p.m., and succeeded in playing out time, losing five wickets for 91, the bowling of Mailey and Macartney keeping, the batsmen quiet.
