HUTT GOLF CLUB

ANNUAL AIEETING. There was an attendance of nearly 70 members at the annual meeting of the .Hutt Golf Club last night. The captain (Air. G. C. Godfrey) presided. Tho report stated that the club was in a satisfactory financial position. The balance of revenue over expenditure transferred to accumulated fund was £402 14s. Bd., as against £219 os. Id. in the previous year. A donation of £lO worth of debentures was secured, and negotiations already made may result in further donations of debentures. Outstanding subscriptions and locker rents at the end of the year amounted to £63 Ils. Gd., since which £4O Ils. had been received, leaving £23 3s 6d outstanding. The membership, for the year was as follows (previous year’s figures shown in parentheses): -—Ordinary members, men 129 (111), women 90 (93) ; junior members, men 14 (47), women 5 (9); non-playing members, men 29 (19), women 11 (8); absentee members, men 14 (9), women 9 (5); country members, 1; life members 4. During the year general improvement works were carried out on the links. The thanks of the committee and of men players were duo to the ladies’ committee, for offering to forgo Saturday play, to ease congestion during week-ends. Special thanks were given to Air. R. C. Kirk, for the beautification of the lawn approach to the clubhouse. The report was adopted without discussion. The election of officers resulted: — Captain. Colonel R. O. Chesney; secretary. Air. H. Manning; treasurer. Air. G. F. Judd; hon. auditor. Air. D. Alorris. The remaining members of the committee elected wore Alessrs. T. H. AVagg, A. I*. Matthews, L. C. Hemcry. and Evans. The chib’s rules were) amended io provide for a 2s. levy to encourage professionals by the Golf Council.
