MUST. KEEP PROPER. BOOKS. Failure to keep an exact- record of tlio amount of milk sold was responsible for the appearance before Mr. C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., in tho Magistrate’s Court, yesterday afternoon, of Carl Valdemer Hansen. According to Mr. L. C. Hemery, defendant was a near-by farmer to the city, and when his premises were recently inspected it was found that his system of keeping books was a rough and ready one, and although it might have satisfied him, it did not comply with the regulation. The case, added counsel, was brought as a warning. Defendant, in admitting the breach, explained fliat his books had been upset through changing his system. The Magistrate imposed a fine of £1 and costs.
