was a deputation of ladies from Roseneath, which had filled, the Council Chamber, who bad said that, they wanted tho lift and wanted it badly. Whenever there were two sections of a community violently opposed to one another, it was obvious that it was pract'cally impossible to please both parties. Anyhow, the committee would take the representations of the deputation into serious consideration to see what could be done.
