4 FINED FOR SENDING 1 ’ BOGUS TELEGRAM. London, January 25. The Rev. J. Karran was fined £lO, with £2O costs, for sending the Bishop of Sodor and Man a telegram signed “Baldwin,” arranging for a meeting tn Liverpool. Karran explained that he concocted the wire as a joke to cheer a girl passenger threatened with eca-sickness. Jt was intended to suggest that Mr. Baldwin wanted to offer the Bishop an English bishopric of which there had been local rumours. — Sydney “Sun” Cables. [A practical joke played on the Bishop of Sodor and Man caused a sensation in the Isle of Man. The Bishop received a hoaxing telegram summoning him to tho mainland, which compelled him to abandon a speech in the local Parliament on tho Manx Church Assembly Bill. The Rev. J.
