REMARKABLE SNAKE STORY

4 BOY BITTEN FIVE TIMES. Sydney, January 26. A snake story, remarkable even among stories of that class, is being featured in the Press. A youth named Clifford Scholes, residing in the Albury district, five times in the past few weeks has been sent to the hospital with snake-bite. The remarkable features of tho case are that since ti e fourth bite he was carefully guarded bv another boy to prevent snakes attacking him, and that the snakes were not seen by other people. The boy himself declares that snakes smell him, and in their presence his functions become paralysed. The doctors are non-committal, as the wounds always received first aid treatment before they saw them. After refusing an offer of £5 by a theatrical firm for show purposes, Scholes has decided to come to Sydney to place himself outside the danger rone, being ocmvinced that his life is endangered in the vicinity of any snakes. In proof of this he points out that nobody else on his home farm has been attacked, and very few people have seen any snakes this season, and three bites were received during the night time. — •Press Assn.
