CHAIR OF ANTHROPOLOGY
TO BE ESTABLISHED AT SYDNEY UNIVERSITY. (Rec. January 18, 7.45 p.m.) Sydney, January 18. The secretary of the Australian Research Council has announced that one of the first fruits of the Pan Pacific Union meeting last year, will be the establishment of. a chair of anthropology at 1 Sydney University this yjr. The Commonwealth Governnieiro will contribute £l7OO a year in return for which it will benefit by the training given to students who later will become officials and administrators in Papua and the mandated territories.—Press Assn.
