BOK PEACE PLAN
CHARGES QF ORGANISED PROPAGANDA TO BE INVESTIGATED BY COMMITTEE By Telegraph—Press Association. —Copyright. (Rcc. January 18, 8.30 p.m.) Washington, January 17. The Senate has appointed a committee, composed of two Democrats, two Republicans, and Farmers’ Labour, under the chairmanship of Senator Moses, to investigate charges that organised propaganda is operating on behalf of the Box peace plan, and that foreign efforts are being made to influence the domestic and foreign policies of the United States. Mr. Bok has been summoned to appear before the committee on January 21, and will be ques'tiq- J<l ccl.iceming the origin of tho peace plan scheme, and the- methods of choice of the prizewinner. It is understood tho committee will revive tho League of Nations issue, and attempt to formulate an organised attack against the plan—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [Mr. E. W. Bok, vice-president of the Curtis Publishing Company, and formerly editor-in-chief of the Ladies Home Journal,” offered a prize* ol 1(10.000 dollars for a practical nlan by which the United States could co-oper-ate with the rest of the world in achieving and preserving peace.. Hie plan which was awarded the prize declared that co-operation with the League of Nations .was inevitable.)
