CITY WATER SUPPLY
POSITION GREATLY ■ IMPROVED
The Waiuui dam is full and running over as the result of the rains, which have been more plentiful on the hills than in the city. The Wainui, which had been very low, was receding again yesterday morning from a very satisfactory level, but will not be as low again, it is hoped, for somo time. The water is very low in the Karori reservoir, as it always is at this time of year, the catchment area of 600 acres being insufficient for the demands upon it. , Already 120 ft. of the 800 ft. remaining to be driven in the Orongorongo tunnel have been cut, and there are no indications at present that the link will not be completed by the date expected. The Orongorongo River is in flood, but is already showing signs of falling.
