No stone has been left unturned to provide a week’s entertainment that everybody will be pleased to participate in. Tliere will be racing, cricket, swimming, yachting (Sanders Cup), bowls, dancing, music, shop displays, etc., in ; "" 'various parts of tho city during the week, and every evening there will be ‘‘ V a full bill of new and original enter- . tainments at Newtown Park. The procession, which leaves Post Office Square at 6.30 p.m., will be unusually good. Nine bands will see to it that there will be no music shortage ; the many funny sketches and displays, and the much-discussed Taniwha are expected to make it a procession jniquo for its variety and originality. On Saturday afternoon at 1.30 there will to a good programme of athletic events at Ath- ' HARBOUR SWIMMING RACE. One of the features for Saturday next will be the two-mile harbour race, to bo swum from tho Queen’s AVharf. There is a big entry already assured for these events, including the New Zealand champions, besides which there will bo diving displays by New Zealand’s best divers It is understood '■‘ that one will dive from a height of approximately 100 feet.
