' CITY COUNCIL EMPLOYEES’ PICNIC. The employees of the AVellington City Council held their annual picnic yesterday at Day’s Bay. The weather was not all that could be desired in the morning, but at 12 o’clock noon there was a decided improvement, and, though i ». tho air was somewhat wintry for the seaside, all present lent themselves to I .making the day’s outing a success, and . tho afternoon provided fun in plenty for 1 both the children and their elders. Tho party, numbering fully 500, left at 9.30 . a.m., and returned at 7 p.m., reaching town at 7.45 p.m. Alessrs.
