Prior to his departure from the Dominion. Mr. A. F. Roberts. New Zealand Commissioner at the Empire Exhibition, was the recipient of a number of reference books on the Dominion from Messrs. Whitcombs and Tombs. Limited. The late Mr. Benjamin Eddv Moyle, whose death occurred at Blenheim on Saturday morning,, a long illness, was born in W’aitahuna, Gtago, in 1871. He. was educated at Waitahuna School and Lawrence High School. After serving as a cadet on Moa Flat station and working there for several years, Mr. Moyle, accompanied by a mate and with three horses, left on a long trek to Marlborough, at the opposite end of the island. Arriving at Flaxbourne, the . traveller found that the locality suited him, and he worked on the Flaxbourne Estate, which was then under the management of Mr. Wold. When tho estate was subdivided, Mr. Moyle secured a section and devoted himself to farniiiig. Ho held the farm until ill-health compelled him to relinquish such arduous life'.
