ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Y.M.C.'A. was held last evening. Mr. A P. Smith presided over a very satisfactory attendance of members. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet. Mr. Smith stated that tho past year had been one of progress. He referred to extended activities of the association, such as the “T” Club luncheon and the Hobbies Club. One thing that had struck’ 7iim during his term of office was the response of the people of Wellington to ail appeals on behalf of the association. It was regarded as a great public asset. In seconding the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, Mr. W. J Mason, flie lion, treasurer, alluded more particularly to the work among the younger members. This was a department that was_ not altogether selfsupporting financially. Nevertheless good work was being done. The association during the past year had been almost entirely self-supporting. The splendid co-operation of tho staff was stressed by Mr. E. P. Hav, a vice-president. At. no time had the work of the association been more efficient than at present’. “We can look back on the work of the past year with the utmost satisfaction.” said Mr. W. Eglin.
