MINISTERS’ ASSOCIATION

OPEN AIR PREACHING FAVOURED.

The Wellington Ministers’ Association met yesterday. The Rev. R. Inglis presided, and there was a fair attendance of ministers. .

The Rev. Dr. Pinfold, who has just returned to New Zealand from a trip to the Old Country, gave an interesting account of his travels from a religious point of view. Dr. Pinfold stated that he had time to see a good amount of church life of the community at Home. His report was most favourable, and he stated that everywhere he went there were crowded congregations. The preaching in New Zealand compared most favourably with the preaching at Home. There was a very hopeful spirit abroad regarding the future of the Christian Church. The pessimism of former days had passed away.

There followed some discussion on the advantages of open air preaching. It was proposed and heartily supported that open air services should be held in various parts of Wellington. It was agreed to postpone detail consideration of the matter until after the holidays. The next meeting of, the association is to be held in March of next year.
