RECORD FOR SIXTY YEARS
Those who have gardens in Wellington. oven only the fringe of tlie back yard, will not need to be told that tne month ended yesterday has been a singularly drv one. As a matter of lact, the actual rainfall—a mere spattering on two or three occasions—was .zo (three-quarters) of an inch, which is reported to be a record in Wellington for 60 vears. In November of last year, .the fall was 5.42 inches, .whilst tho moan for the month is 3.47 inches. Ar tho result of the dry spell gardens. lawns, and pasture lands, are very drv. and in some parts are browning up as though it wore the end of Tnnuarv. According to the latest report, the dry spoil is likely to continue for a while.
