His opinion was that it was much better for Canterbury to depend on Dunedin at present. He strongly advised Canterbury not to go in for expenditure in the meantime. The difficulties of the transportation of the tubes had bc*?n overcome in other narts. Dr. Barnett also suggested that the sum of £l5O. which the Canterbury Board had_ in hand for radium, migh be used advantageously on an X-rav plant.
