ANOTHER TENDER
FOR THE HUTT ROAD CONTRACT
The Mayor (Mr. R. A. Wright) stated'yesterday that he had given it out that there were onlv two tenders for tho construction of the permanent bitumen track along the Hurt road, that of Mr. E. Parker, representing Australian Roads, Ltd., ano that ol the City Corporation, but a third tender had been, put in at the last moment bv Mr. WZ T. Carr, of Carr Bros., Ltd., of Melbourne. This tender would lie considered with the others when thq council met on Monday afternoon. As this meeting was likely to collide with the meeting of the Hutt Road Board, fixed for tne same afternoon to peruse the tenders, he thought he would have to postpone the latter meeting until a later date.
