WORLD COURT
OPPOSITION IN UNITED STATES SENATE HARDING’S RESOLUTION MAY BE BLOCKED By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. (Rec. November 29, 11.40 p.m.) New York, November 28. The New York “Tribune’s” Washington correspondent states that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the new Congress will contain a majority against the World Court. A realignment of the forces in the Senate is now progressing under the surface, and the Democrats and Republicans are straining for control of the membership of this committee. The correspondent adds: “All the indications are that tho World Court resolution introduced by President Harding will be held back indefinitely by the committee, and it may never even see the light of day during ths next session of Congress, despite every effort by its friends to revive it. Eight Republican members and one Democrat oppose the court and five favour it. Two members still to be chosen are Democrats. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
